Your own beach:
On your beach, which slopes gently into the sparkling blue sea water of our bay, you can enjoy perfect swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. Enjoy the soothing sound of the sea and the fascinating sunsets. If available, your boat can also be moored to a buoy or jetty, so you can explore the entire enchanting coastal region and offshore islands at any time.
The immediate surroundings:
The beautiful property has a spectacular view over the bay and to the offshore island. Nearby, within a 5 minute drive, is the charming town of Milina with its small harbor. There you will find all shopping facilities and restaurants serving fresh fish and often organic meat. The town of Milina is characterized by the fact that it is not overrun with tourists and has preserved its originality. Time has not stopped here, but it seems that time passes more slowly.
Around Milina there are many mountain villages, which are very easy to reach by car but also very nice to hike. Each of these mountain villages has a beautiful market place from which you often have a spectacular view over the entire bay of the Pagasitic Gulf, also called the Gulf of Volos.
The larger village of Argalasti is the main regional town where, in addition to good medical services, there is a larger market every Saturday selling fresh fish, vegetables and handicrafts. Argalasti is about 15 minutes by car from Milina. If you drive over the mountain range of Pelion, which is about 300 m high, you will reach the wild coast of the Aegean Sea with many small villages and beautiful sandy beaches.
The wider surroundings:
The city of Volos, with its approximately 140,000 inhabitants is about an hour away from Milina by car. Here you can experience the hustle and bustle of a big city with almost everything on offer. The medical care is optimally ensured by a university clinic.
On the mountain Pelion there is a popular skiing area at an altitude of about 1,500 m. In winter, when the sun is shining, you can look down from the snow-covered slopes over the entire Gulf of Volos - very spectacular!
Arrival by plane:
Volos airport is about 45 minutes from Volos by car. There are direct flights from England (London), from Austria (Vienna) and from Germany (Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and Munich). The flight time is between 2:30 and 3:30 hours. Otherwise, the airports in Thessaloniki are about 3 hours and Athens about 4 hours drive from Volos. Of course, rental cars are available at all airports.
Arrival by car:
Either you go via Italy by ferry from e.g. Ancona to Igoumenitsa or by land via the Balkan countries. Such a trip can be - if you take some time - a wonderful experience.
